Socialoekonomi Nordjylland is a member driven association in the North Jutland region of Denmark that works to strengthen social enterprises and socially sustainable businesses so more people on the margins can access meaningful work, colleagues, and a stable everyday life. Founded in 2012, the association brings together socially responsible companies, certified social enterprises and foundations, municipalities, educational institutions, organizations, and private individuals who support the role of social and cooperative enterprises in a fair and sustainable economy. The association activates its mission through partnerships, networking events, talks, company visits, thematic meetings, hearings, and visible online engagement, especially on LinkedIn where it shares member stories and practical inspiration for socially sustainable business operations. Over the years it has built close collaboration with Network for Sustainable Business Development North Denmark, Kooperationen, Erhverv Norddanmark, Selveje Danmark, Dansk Handicapforbund, and Sociale Entreprenorer Danmark to turn ideas into practice and unlock the broader societal potential of social and cooperative business models. Since 2021 Socialoekonomi Nordjylland has functioned as a common council under Kooperationen, which has strengthened its organization and opened access to national business networks, policy influence, competence development, and deeper knowledge about democratically anchored enterprise governance. The association welcomes longer term collaborations with all actors who want to advance socially and environmentally sustainable business models and ESG agendas in North Jutland, and it regularly co hosts activities such as innovation and entrepreneurship sessions at AAU Innovate and Business Aalborg engagements that show how small jobs can make a big difference. While it is not a staffing agency, the network enables employers and public actors to connect with social enterprises for inclusive hiring, small job creation, internships, and responsible supply chain partnerships. Members benefit from visibility, knowledge sharing, peer learning, access to partners, and practical pathways to embed social impact into their business. With a pragmatic North Jutland tone and a strong regional footprint, Socialoekonomi Nordjylland champions collaboration that creates measurable value for people, businesses, and society.
