Company Description

Harris Resources Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization established in 1987 to enhance the lives of children, vulnerable adults, and families served by Harris County Resources for Children and Adults in Harris County, Texas. Guided by its mission to provide funding and other support services, the Foundation channels monetary and in-kind donations into programs that expand and strengthen safety, health, stability, and long-term outcomes for at-risk populations. Its support spans three core areas: services for vulnerable adults, including the Guardianship Program for individuals deemed incapacitated by Probate Courts, the Senior Justice Assessment Center for seniors facing abuse, neglect, or exploitation, and the Representative Payee Program that helps eligible low-income adults manage finances to live independently; services for abused and neglected children, backing initiatives such as the Integrated Health Clinic delivering medical, dental, and behavioral care, child and parent assessments to ensure safety, permanency planning, BEAR (Be A Resource) for CPS-involved children, and The HAY Center’s education, employment, housing, and coaching for current and former foster youth; and services for at-risk youth and families in crisis, including the Kinder Emergency Shelter, Community Youth Services’ school-based crisis intervention, and TRIAD’s prevention and diversion programs like intake diversion, mental health support, child sex trafficking response, community development, JP court programs, and parenting classes. Through the generosity of donors and the community, more than $6.5 million has been directed to projects and initiatives such as constructing and upgrading the 24-hour Youth Services Center, launching the Children’s Assessment Center, supporting Integrated Health Services, mentoring programs, emergency shelter upgrades, facility improvements, and critical flexible funds for families with serious mental health needs. The Foundation also engages stakeholders through events like the Hearts of Hope luncheon and ongoing campaigns, sustaining a collaborative ecosystem across public agencies, healthcare and social service providers, and community partners to create measurable, lasting impact for Harris County’s most vulnerable residents.
