Company Description
Cellphire Therapeutics, Inc. is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on harnessing the unique biology of platelets to save lives in trauma, surgery, and critical care settings where acute hemorrhage remains a leading cause of preventable mortality. Guided by the vision that no-one should die from controllable hemorrhage and a mission centered on saving lives with platelet therapeutics, Cellphire is advancing a first-to-market, first-in-class portfolio designed to overcome the severe shelf-life and availability constraints of standard liquid stored platelets. Its freeze-dried, platelet-derived hemostat Thrombosomes (built on the FPH platform) can be stored for up to three years and reconstituted in minutes, while its cryopreserved, activated platelet candidate CLPH-511 (CPP) is being developed for intravenous use to address platelet availability for both military and civilian patients. By enabling reliable inventory buffers and rapid deployment, these stabilized products aim to reduce rationing, curb waste, and ensure clinicians have effective therapies at the point of need, including during mass casualty events, military conflicts, post-partum hemorrhage, and complex surgeries. The Thrombosomes program is in a Phase 2, dose-ranging study in bleeding patients with thrombocytopenia, and the CRYPTICS Phase 2/3 study evaluates cryopreserved platelets in patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass, with trial sites that include leading centers such as MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, City of Hope, and international partners in Israel and Norway. Cellphire engages healthcare professionals and patients through education, clinical trial participation, and an Expanded Access Policy, and collaborates with research partners, blood centers, and government stakeholders to enable regulatory progress and operational readiness. Supported by publications and issued patents around core stabilization technologies, the company continues to explore new therapeutic applications, including addressing vascular permeability, with the goal of transforming hemostatic care for both civilian and military medicine.
