Company Description

Wallace Deckey Consulting is a boutique New Yorkbased firm delivering retained executive search and strategic talent advisory services to publicly listed, privately held, and private equitybacked consumer businesses and their sponsors. The firm builds leadership teams and boards across the consumer landscape, spanning retail, consumer durables, leisure products, food and beverage, packaged goods, apparel, footwear, accessories, luxury goods, hotels, restaurants, leisure, and other consumer services. Taking on only a handful of assignments at a time, Wallace Deckey Consulting provides partner-led engagements and end-to-end ownership of the process, bringing a collaborative, candid, and creative approach grounded in rigorous research, strategic analysis, and an explicit commitment to diverse candidate slates. In addition to retained executive search, the firm offers deal support through strategic introductions to private equity investors to evaluate opportunities and gain advantage, and it identifies buy-in leadership teams when aligned to a clients value creation plan. Its advisory offerings include talent mapping to maintain a proactive pipeline of executive talent, confidential referencing (both blind and candidate-provided), and other bespoke, ad hoc talent projects tailored to transformation agendas. Founder and Managing Partner Sarah Deckey brings a 360-degree operator-and-search perspective: she began her search career at Korn Ferry as a Principal in the Retail/Consumer Practice, built and led global leadership recruiting in-house at WeWork, and served as a Partner at Skillcapital leading U.S. Consumer and Business Services. Earlier, she held senior roles in apparel/retail/luxury across strategy, business development, licensing, and international operations at companies including Kellwood and The Donna Karan Company, spent four years in equity research at Citigroup covering textiles, apparel, and footwear, and was Vice President of Strategy and Business Development within VF Corporations Sportswear Coalition (Nautica and Kipling). Guided by values of partnership and diversity, the firm focuses on results that drive long-term, value-accretive outcomes.
