Company Description

Workforce Development Partners (WDP) is a Florida-based nonprofit focused on workforce innovation via collaborative models that unite schools, families, employers, and community organizations to create life-changing opportunities for youth and adults while strengthening local economies. Originating in Plant City with a single job fair at Plant City High School in 2015, WDP evolved from a grassroots effort into a formal nonprofit to scale collaboration and impact across Hillsborough County and beyond. Following COVID, the district integrated The Future Career Academy (FCA) into every high school beginning in the 20222023 school year, and the program now reaches 37 high schoolsincluding traditional, career, exceptional, and alternative siteswhere students receive practical workforce curriculum and hands-on exposure to employers. Through its two flagship programsFCA for students and Best Florida Jobs (BFJ) for adult job seekersWDP prepares individuals with professional, interpersonal, and life skills and connects them directly to in-demand local jobs and training. FCA delivers immersive experiences such as business panels, business tours, and Future Fair hiring events that initiate the application process, while BFJ hosts community hiring events and employer spotlights that bridge adults into long-term career growth and sustainable employment. In partnership with Hillsborough County Public Schools and a broad network of employers and community champions, WDP cultivates inclusive talent pipelines for entry-level and early-career roles across sectors, reduces barriers by increasing awareness and access, and channels volunteer engagement to amplify outcomes. Guided by core beliefs that collaboration, financial empowerment, access, skill development, and systemic change lead to stronger communities, WDP serves as an economic catalyst for the region. The organizations dedicated team, led by CEO Yvonne Fry, advances strategy, community partnerships, education advancement, events, and creative communications, with progress documented through public impact and annual reports. As WDP continues to expand within Hillsborough and neighboring counties, it invites employers to register and sponsor, and community members to volunteer and donate, to scale shared success for students, adults, and the businesses that hire them.
