Originating from Keys to Work, an award-winning WBE/MBE-certified alternative staffing firm founded in 1996 that helped more than 10,000 people secure employment, Keys2Work was incorporated as a Type 1 supporting nonprofit in 2020 to serve as the staffing arm of RecycleForce and focus exclusively on justice-involved talent. The organization operates an A-B-C pathwayAny job, Better job, Careerpreparing participants to enter work quickly, gain stability and experience with community employers, and advance to sustainable, living-wage roles. Employers benefit from candidates who are work ready, with OSHA basics and employer-specific training completed in advance, as well as on-the-job mentoring and retention support that improves safety, reliability, and performance. A long-standing partnership with the Department of Public Works (since 2012) illustrates the models impact: Keys2Work supplies trained temporary workers to cover seasonal and absence-driven needs, many of whom successfully convert into permanent, union green collar positions. As a mission-driven staffing provider, Keys2Work delivers flexible hiring solutions spanning temporary assignments, contract engagements, and direct-hire placements, backed by case management, wraparound services, and data-driven oversight that tracks credentialing and skills attainment. Working closely with community partners across Marion County, including workforce agencies and neighborhood centers, Keys2Work reduces barriers for returning citizens and unhoused youth, strengthens public safety, and expands access to opportunity.
