Company Description

South Central Los Angeles Regional Center (SCLARC) is a community-based nonprofit organization that coordinates assessment, education, case management, and lifelong services for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families across South Los Angeles and neighboring cities. The center facilitates intake and eligibility, Early Start services for children under three, Lanterman Act services for children ages 317, adult services, Person Centered Thinking, and the Self-Determination Program, while also advancing mental health initiatives through targeted grant projects such as the Mental Health Assessment and Support Project and Engaging High Need Families. Operating within a broad service area that includes South Los Angeles, Watts, Leimert Park, Florence/Firestone, West Adams, and the cities of Bell, Bell Gardens, Compton, Cudahy, Downey, Huntington Park, Lynwood, Maywood, Vernon, South Gate, Gardena, and Paramount, SCLARC connects individuals and families to a comprehensive provider network and publishes resources such as a provider directory, appeals information, and rights guidance to ensure access and transparency. The organization maintains active governance through a Board of Directors and advisory committees, and it engages the community with outreach events, trainings, and multilingual sessions that reflect the diverse populations it serves. Public meetings, calendars, and announcements keep stakeholders informed, while employment opportunities and provider RFPs support organizational capacity and service quality. With online applications, bilingual outreach, and on-call support for urgent needs, SCLARC integrates care coordination, advocacy, and community partnership to deliver equitable, person-centered services across the lifespan.
