Who will I be working with if I engage EQ8 Recruit?
You will work directly with me, Tracey Shearer. EQ8 Recruit is founder-led and owner-operated, and I take personal accountability for every mandate I accept.

I work with organisations that value trust, clarity, and thoughtful decision making in hiring. This often includes owner-led businesses, leadership teams, and international organisations seeking a senior, hands-on recruitment partner rather than a volume-driven agency.
What types of roles and industries do you specialise in?
I support organisations with specialist, professional, and leadership roles across a range of sectors. My core industry experience includes shore-based shipping and maritime services, marine and offshore, energy solutions, supply chain and logistics, mining and resources, engineering, and manufacturing.
Across these environments, I focus on roles where technical competence must align with behavioural fit, communication style, and organisational context.
What makes EQ8 Recruit different from traditional recruitment agencies?
EQ8 Recruit is judgement-driven rather than volume-driven. I do not operate with junior consultants, aggressive sales models, or transactional delivery. I focus on understanding business context, leadership dynamics, and long-term fit before recommending talent.
Do you work alone or with a team?
EQ8 Recruit is founder-led and owner-operated by me, Tracey Shearer. I remain closely involved throughout the recruitment process and take responsibility for decision making and delivery. I also work with trusted support where appropriate, allowing me to deliver consistently without diluting judgement or accountability.
Do you work locally or internationally?
I work globally and support organisations hiring across multiple regions. My experience spans international markets, and my approach is market-aware rather than tied to a single geography.
How do you approach candidate experience?
I believe communication and respect are non-negotiable in hiring. While not every candidate can progress, every candidate deserves clarity and professionalism. I design recruitment processes that are structured, transparent, and human.
Are you suitable for high-volume or transactional hiring?
No. EQ8 Recruit is best suited to organisations seeking a senior, owner-led partner for critical or meaningful hires. If volume or speed alone is the priority, I am unlikely to be the right fit.
