The firm blends talent acquisition and executive search with hands-on advisory support across the employee lifecycle, partnering with leadership to define roles, articulate capabilities and success profiles, and identify candidates who align with both the skill requirements and the culture a client seeks to promote. Beyond hiring, BlackWhiteGray designs practical HR infrastructure to support growth or change, from workforce planning, recruiting processes, and management skills training to competitive compensation frameworks and performance management programs. The team increases in-house HR capacity by coaching and mentoring HR leaders and teams, advising on role design, and helping organizations develop or find the right HR talent. Clients also rely on the firm’s on-call HR support for everyday guidance and urgent issues, including difficult manager conversations, policy and employment regulation questions, internal communications, and crisis response. Co-founded by senior HR leader and mediator Linda Tepedino, who has implemented talent strategies and HR operations in the US, Europe, and Asia and supported change with organizations such as Consumer Reports, The New York Times Company, Thomson Reuters, and The Walt Disney Company, and by Kerry Gillich, J.D., an employee relations and communications consultant with legal training and experience in marketing and M&A at JPMorgan Chase, the firm brings seasoned, pragmatic expertise to complex situations. BlackWhiteGray partners with a network of HR professionals to assemble the right resources at the right time, strengthening senior leadership teams with individualized coaching and tailored executive team experiences, and ensuring compliance as clients staff up quickly. Their approach reflects the belief that while some issues are black and white, most HR challenges require nuanced, transparent practices that create high-performing teams and an exceptional employee experience.
