Company Description

Autismecenter Vest is a Danish specialist organization founded in 2014 to design and deliver tailored pathways that support young people and adults on the autism spectrum toward education, daily life skills, and participation in the labor market. Based at Ringkobingvej 108A, 7400 Herning, the center operates as part of Langvadbjergfonden, a foundation established in 2011 by Autismeforeningens Kreds Midtvest to advance knowledge and inclusion related to autism. Its professional foundation recognizes autism as a pervasive developmental condition with unique cognitive profiles, and its programs address common challenges such as social and communication difficulties, meaning and motivation, executive functioning, and sensory processing, while also accommodating co occurring conditions like ADHD, stress, anxiety, and depression. Services span structured education and employability tracks, including Saerligt Tilrettelagt Uddannelse (STU), Uddannelses og erhvervsafklaring (education and work readiness assessment), and Klar til Start, alongside advisory offerings. Through Kursus og Raadgivning, Autismecenter Vest provides counseling, training, and lectures for individuals with ASD, parents and relatives, as well as for professionals, institutions, and public authorities, drawing on a multidisciplinary network of caseworkers, psychologists, psychiatrists, pedagogues, occupational therapists, and educational consultants. Practical learning environments include creative and wood workshops, IT and PC assembly, graphics on PC, and park and landscape activities, helping participants explore interests and build employable skills in safe, structured settings. The center also hosts events such as information meetings and open houses, and runs KLUBBEN, a social club held on Wednesday evenings for participants aged 17 and above, facilitated by experienced staff to promote wellbeing and social interaction. Supported by donations of tools, materials, and equipment from socially minded companies and individuals, Autismecenter Vest strengthens hands on learning and broadens vocational exploration. Across all activities, the team works individually with each participant to clarify goals, nurture strengths, and prepare for transitions to further education, internships, and workplaces, thereby improving quality of life and fostering inclusion.
